At a press briefing, National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby demanded HAMAS allow those non-combatants who want to leave Gaza be allowed to leave.
He said: “Those casualties each and everyone is a tragedy in its own right…it would be helpful if Hamas would let [Gazans] leave…We know that there are thousands waiting to leave Gaza writ large and Hamas is preventing them from doing it. That is what is harsh.”
GazaPassage is working to ensure the USA and other nations around the world help non-combatants leave Gaza for humanitarian purposes.
Earlier, GazaPassage’s international envoy Coach Weinhaus secured Israel’s public commitment to non-combatants to leave Gaza. Israel has not publicly changed its position.
