According to a tweet from OSINTdefender on X.com (né Twitter), HAMAS sought to hide upwards of 40 of its fighters in ambulances to escape to Egypt.

HAMAS had attempted to use the Red Cross and Red Crescent ambulances that were provided to help get those needing medical equipment to the northern Sinai across the Rafah Border crossing.

The United States nixed HAMAS’ plan when it reviewed the list to ensure only non-combatants leave Gaza.

GazaPassage is working to ensure countries like the United States and organizations such as the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, and others around the world help non-combatants leave Gaza for humanitarian purposes.

The wounded non-combatants were being transported to field hospitals set up by Turkey and Egypt. Later, Israel is reported to have later struck an ambulance that was alleged to be carrying HAMAS fighters.
