The leader of Iran called for the opening of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza on Wednesday, according to Anadolu Agency.

“It is highly expected that the highest authorities in Egypt will open the Rafah crossing unconditionally to send medicine, food and fuel to the entire Gaza Strip,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. “Today, the eyes of the women and children of Gaza are on the Rafah crossing, and they are without water, medicine, or food, and they are awaiting Egypt’s decisive decision in this regard.”

GazaPassage is working to ensure Egypt, and other nations and organizations around the world help non-combatants leave Gaza for humanitarian purposes.

Amir-Abdollahian did not reference the GazaPassage Pledge or committing to help non-combatants leave Gaza. The UAE and Australia have pledged to do so.
