In an update to our earlier report, United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s directive to take 1,000 children plus their families from Gaza for medical treatment at UAE hospitals is taking shape.
A tweet by Loay Alshareef, an Arab internet influencer who helped push the Abraham Accords, reveals that the first 90 children, accompanied by their families, are now en route from Gaza to the UAE through Egypt for treatment in local hospitals.
GazaPassage is working to ensure the UAE and other nations and organizations around the world help non-combatants leave Gaza for humanitarian purposes.
The UAE has not offered a timeline for completing its initial 1000 family promise nor expanding it upon its success.
